There are some amazing events, menus, operating hours, and more coming to the community. Remember, this Branch is open to the public, is kid-friendly, and is one of the most affordable places to dine in the area – come visit us!!
Our Journey
Since 1931, Branch 119 of the Royal Canadian Legion has been an integral part of the Port Moody community. Nestled in the heart of the old city centre on Clarke Street, our branch has been a beacon of camaraderie and service for over nine decades.
In 1955, we celebrated a milestone as we welcomed the New Year in our old location (pictured below), despite the absence of a floor! Fast forward 60 years, and we commemorated another memorable New Year’s Eve bash in 2015. This time, however, it marked the beginning of a new chapter as we prepared to embark on a journey of redevelopment. Both occasions were filled with boundless optimism and a deep sense of community spirit, reflecting our unwavering commitment to a bright future while honouring our cherished past.
As the seasons changed in 2015, so did the landscape of Port Moody. The once-empty corner of Kyle and Clarke Streets blossomed into a vibrant hub, adorned with apartments, retail spaces, and our brand-new Club 119 facility, featuring the illustrious Chip Kerr Lounge. Through it all, Branch 119 remained a beacon of resilience and unity, leading the region in membership retention even in the face of adversity. We are extremely proud of our history in Port Moody, but also recognize that we have a wonderful purpose-built legion to carry our legacy forward.
The New Legion

Don’t fret over memberships; our arms are open for everyone to discover our brand-new amenities. Nestled at 2529 Clarke Street, in the beating heart of Port Moody, BC, we’re more than just a spot on the map; we’re a beacon of camaraderie and convenience, complete with hassle-free customer and on-street parking. Plus, we’re a stone’s throw away from bus lines and the vital Moody Centre SkyTrain station – making your journey to us as easy as the smiles you’ll find inside.

How Can I join & or be part of the Legion
Branch #119 is a new, purpose built legion that welcomes members, non-members & families. Children are permitted until 10pm and have to be supervised. You don’t have to be a member, or sign anybody in. It couldn’t be easier to access all of the facilities, affordable food & drinks. The legion is also taking bookings for community events, parties and has a wonderful kitchen that can also offer catering. Membership does have its benefits & also helps the legion stay operating in the community & for veterans. See our Members & Meeting page for more details.
Poppy & Remembrance Day November 11th
Armistice Day or “Remembrance Day” as it has come to be known, originated following the end of the First World War. The Armistice agreement was signed between Germany and the Allied Forces in Paris on Monday, 11 November 1918 at 0500 hours. The ceasefire went into effect at 1100 hours the same morning. The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The first Armistice Day was observed in 1919. On November 6th, in the House of Commons, the then acting Prime Minister of Canada, Sir George Foster read a message from King George V.
